ResponderExcluirHello, my name’s Ellen Lima and I’m 20. I was born in Ilhéus, which is located in the south of Bahia. I got married last December and we live in a small apartment. I’ve been studying English since 2006.2 at Yázigi and now I’m a trainee there. When I was in high school I didn’t like English very much, because some of my teachers were too unmotived with our English classes.
ResponderExcluirI’m a very busy person. In the morning I go to Uesc where I study Letras and I’m in the middle of the course. I like the course but I prefer to study the English related subjects. In the afternoons I study at home. On Tuesdays and Thursday I go to Yázigi. I help teachers in the classes from 14:00 to 17:00 after I help children with their homework and from 19:00 to 20:30 I take an advanced course there.
In addition to this, I’m participating in a project called “Pesquisa de Materiais Didáticos com TICs no Ensino de Inglês” with my English professor Rodrigo Aragão, who taught us in the first and second term and also he’ll be our professor again this term.
In my free time I go to church with my husband’s family. So, when we are at home we love to watch movies and prepare us some different snacks. I’m shy, even though some of my classmates consider me a talkative person.
I really want to work as teacher and I love English. Also, English is too important in our lives.
My name is Nivana and I’m a 19-year old girl. I was born in Itabuna-BA, but I’ve always lived in Itajuípe (a little city next to Itabuna) with my parents. I’m in the fourth term of Liberal Arts course at UESC, studying to become a teacher. I chose this course because I really like to study English, Portuguese and their Literatures.
ResponderExcluirI’ve studied English since the Elementary School and nowadays I attend a Preparatory Course for taking the First Certificate examination from Cambridge University because, maybe, I’ll try to take it at the end of the year. From Monday to Friday, I wake up early to go to the college and in the afternoons and nights I study at home. I’ve been interested in watching American movies and TV shows, listening to music and spending some time on the Web in order to learn new things about the language. During the Liberal Arts course, I intend to improve my English more and more and within three years I would like to get ready to teach English very well.

ResponderExcluirWe are so happy to have you with us in this interesting project about how we teach and learn using blogs.
I live in Mato Grosso and I hope it´ll be an enjoyable place to share information.

Hey, I’m Nathaly. I’m 20 years old and I live in Rondonópolis – MT. I study at UFMT, and I’m in the sixth term of “Letras Course”. As my mother, I intend to be a teacher. She is a professor at History course at UFMT, and she has been writing the history of this university. Here in this link below you can have more information about this institution:

I started studying English at the Elementary school, when I was about 7 years old. Since then, I started loving it. English classes were my favorite ones. Then I enrolled at CCAA, and I studied there for six years. When I finished the course, I started studing at UFMT/ CUR.
In my opinion, studying English is not a hobby anymore. In our days, everybody must learn this language in order to have a good job and to understand the changes over the world.
You can contact me in my blog http://nathalyaraujo.blogspot.com/, and know a little bit more about my English studies.
Take care,
Nathaly

ResponderExcluirMy name is Tatiane Souza Alves, I am twenty five years old and I was born in Rondonópolis I have been studying English for three years. I´m a very busy person because I have a part time job in the morning, in the afternoon I go to University and every Saturday I go to English Course “ALL”. I intend to take a advance course there, but first of all I want to finish my “letras course” at University. Unfortunately, I have only free time on Sunday, thus I go to church or I like to stay home watching a good movie. I sometimes read interesting literary books and also I´m preparing my monograph work. It is about teachers and students´ beliefs in relation to second language acquisition. I consider that research will help me to understand better Foreign language in Brazil.
It’s a pleasure for me to talk with you!!!

Hello Everybody!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ResponderExcluirI am Merian, I’m 22 years old. I’m originally from Rondonópolis-MT. I study Languages and Literature at UFMT in Rondonópolis. I’ve been studying English since 2008 when I did entrance exam. Studying English was an old dream that I had, I spent my childhood and adolescence watching movies in English and learn foreign languages have become something very interesting to me. I like to study English, but I think that nowadays it is more a need, if want to live in a globalizated world and full of technology you need to know English, now I have this point of view, but in my adolescence I had no idea why do I have to learn English?
When I become English teacher I’m going to have this and other worries, because in my intern I realized that the students want to learn English, but they don´t feel motivated and They don´t have any reason to learn English. One day I met a girl in the English classroom and she told me that she would like to learn English, but she didn’t know why it was important.
I chose this course because firstly I thought that it could be an opportunity to learn English, I didn’t consider to be a teacher, but now I did, because I knew this course better. I have been studying English since 2008 and I like studying English, it is not a sacrifice to me.
Learning English I feel another person, now I have a different vision about world, I think English is a global language and not from specific countries as I had thought before.
Hello!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ResponderExcluirMy name is Rosineide Neris I´m 30, I was born in Bahia ( in a little city called Guanambi) but I have lived in Rondonópolis-Mato Grosso since 2000. Despite I like so much Bahia, Roo is a good city and I cannot image myself living there again, I guess my life is here.
I did English course during three years, but I stopped when I went to college. I study letras at UFMT (Universidade Federal de Mato grosso, campus de Rondonópolis) in the afternoon, I´m at third year, and I work in the morning, last year I worked as a English teacher at ALL English school in the evening, but this year I did not because I will have a baby soon, then I decided to take care of myself and my son.
When I decided to study English Language was just because I wanted to know a little more about English, but the course helped me to understand Literature, for example, because I hated it before, and now I loved to know about American and English literature, I´m enjoying so much that my monograph is about English literature ( The Shakesperean Tragedy in Hamlet). And the course is also helping me to learn many things about the English Language teaching. So, I hope that in the end I become a good teacher.
Regards
Hello! I'm Rafael and I'm an English major at UFV. I chose Letras because I love languages (I can also speak Spanish and would love to improve my skills in French). Since I'm graduating next year, I have a lot of expectations for my future career as an English teacher and hope I've taken advantage of all the opportunities I've had here (sometimes you need more than what you have in your mandatory classes). I wasn't sure I wanted to be a teacher when I chose this major, but now I am. I feel powerful when I speak English! I've been learning it for about 7 years now, but still remember when I started and how eager I was to communicate in that language... many mistakes, but it was still fun (still is)!
ResponderExcluirAll my best!
Rafael
Hello
ResponderExcluirI’m Josicléia but everybody calls me Cléia. I’m 22 years old and I’ve been studiyng English since I was 15 at private English course. I was born here in Rondonóplis and also have been studying English at Federal University campus Rondonópolis since 2008. If you don’t know Rondonópolis visit this site http://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rondon%C3%B3polis .
I’m a talkative person, however, I’m afraid of speaking English in public. I like going to friend’s house, go out, visit my relatives, go to cinema, listen to romantic and country music, watch etc.
I’ve been doing interesting things that I have never done before, such as, Intern in order to understand the reality of English language in a public school, learn about English literature, read several books to enlarge my knowledge. I’m really happy because I will have my fisrt experience to teach English, which is a Departament’s project. I’ll struggle to be a good teacher and also learn from them. If you want to know a little bit more about me you can visit my blog http://www.darlingcleia.blogspot.com/ .
Hi everyone! My name is Samuel and I'm from Viçosa/MG. I'm 24 and I'm in the 8th term of Letras at UFV.
ResponderExcluirWell, I started studying Geography here at UFV in 2005, but it did not end very well. Two years later I decided to leave the course and study something I really like. English was my choice. I had studied English for 3 years when I was younger, but I stopped when I was 17. From 17 years old to 21 years old my only contact with English was through songs and movies. Music is my passion btw.
I have always liked English and after entering Letras it did not change. I really love the language. In 2008 I, who had never thought about teaching, started teaching for real at CELIN, an extension course at Letras Department. It made me enjoy the language even more and the experience I have been getting since I started there is unmeasurable.
Nowadays, thanks to everything I have lived at Letras and to some people in special, I'm quite sure about what I want to do in my life.
Very happy to share this with you guys!
bye, see you soon!
Hi!My name is Debora Pessoa and I'm 22.I'm from São Paulo-SP, but I've been living in Viçosa for 12 years.I'm in the eighth term of Letters course in UFV, I'm studying to be a Portuguese and English teacher.I've chosen this "promission"(it is not just a profession, but a mission) because I love teaching, I love realize my students improving their knowledge everyday.I know that is really hard teach English at regular schools, students belief that is not possible and not useful learning English. I've studied English since I was 14 and I really love studying it. I love my course, in spite of the difficulties.
ResponderExcluirthat is it.
I'm so happy about your comments, specially because most of you express that study english has been a nice experience.
ResponderExcluirHello! My name is Danielle Dias. I was born in Belo Horizonte-MG, but I've been living in Viçosa for many years.
ResponderExcluirIn 2007 I started my graduation ("Letras" course) at UFV, and one year later I had two experiences as teacher. In the first one, I taught Portuguese for foreign learners in the university for one year. My students came from different countries, for example, France, USA, Colombia, and most of them wanted to learn Portuguese because they needed to talk, write, and understand what was said. In my second experience, I gave some private English classes for a child in my house, but he hated the English language and his aim was only pass the course. Although these experiences were short, I liked them very much and they were very important for me because I learned that teaching language is not an easy task. In my opinion, this process is complex because people often don’t like it. They learn language by necessity, as for example to get a promotion. In addition, many people think that going to school and make the lessons at home is sufficient, but learning a second language requires a lot more. It takes effort, dedication, discipline, both the teacher and, above all, the students.
In 2009 I stopped my Portuguese classes for foreign learners and I began "Iniciação Científica (CNPq)". It's been an incredible experience and in the future I have plans to continue to study, maybe in a Master, at UFV or UFMG, and probably a Ph.D.
It’s a pleasure for me to talk with you!!!
Kisses, Dani.

ResponderExcluirHi everybody!!! How are you? My name is Jaqueline, I am from Viçosa and I study at UFV since 2006. First of all, I want to say that I am really happy to give my opinions here. So,to start, I want to answer some questions about me. Actually, I chose "Letras" course because of my passion for languages, specifically for English and also because inside me, I could feel my desire for teaching since I was a child. I have been studying English for a long time, since I was 11 years old, nowadays I am 24. My sister used to study it and I wanted to do the same. I started to teach in 2006, when I started my course because of the incredible opportunity we have at CELIN, an English course inside the university. It is amazing to observe our students's improvement, right? It makes me happy! I also worked with instrumental English and Portuguese for foreigners. I loved the experiences so much. Nowadays, I am giving classes at FISK, CELIN and "Pre vestibular". I feel really happy to study this beautiful language and also to teach it. For me, English is essential in our lives! =)
I hope we be in touch!
Kisses and have a wonderful week! =)

ResponderExcluirHi Guys
ResponderExcluirFirst of all, I would like to thank all of you that have contributed in this blog. Your participation is the life of “Reflection in Action Project”
My name is Ana Regina Bresolin, 26, and I’m a master degree student at UFMT, Cuiabá. I’m the blogirl and this blog is a part of a research project that me and my Professor are proposing for my studies and for my dissertation.
I think it’s important to tell something about me, the blogirl here!, So, I’m gonna start telling a little bit about my life, and why I chose to be a foreign language teacher.
It’s has being a long time since I started studying languages. I can even remember me asking my Dad to study English. I was 10 years old and I had heard that it was important to learn English. In that time I had already tried to sing in English! (Of course… without understand anything at all, but it was funny anyway…)
My dad let me study English. So, we had a group of 5 friends form School that started the English Classes. Twice a week one of our parents took us to another city, because we didn`t have any free school in our town, in Rio Grande do Sul. I just loved doing that, and everything I can remember from that time is enjoyable and funny.
I spent 3 years in that school and I had to quit it because our parents were too busy and so did us.
We started the high school and I came back to the classes during this period. The most interesting fact, and maybe the most important for my career, was that I started to work in a Language Center, as a secretary, and there I immersed in the world of language learning and teaching. There I also learned Spanish, que también me gusta mucho.
After that, I realized I wanted to be a teacher and decided to do the Letters Course. I studied at UCP, a College in Pitanga, a town in Paraná State, Brazil, where a part of my family moved to.
During my university, my favorite subjects were the ones related to English, such as Foreign Culture, English Literature, and Linguistics. I was my classmates monitor during this period and also started to teach kids, teens and adults in a free Course, and in an Elementary school.
After I finished my graduation course I spent a time in London, studying, traveling and working. It was one of my dreams, and I also believed it was something important for my career. What could I say about this life experience? Amazing!!!! Just being that, living this… Being abroad is a nice way to improve the language, but much more important than it, it’s a wonderful way to know yourself, different cultures, and learn that we are not so different… the sky there is blue as well… rsrsrsrsr

When I came back to Brazil in the end of 2007, my fiancé invited me to move from Paraná to Campo Novo do Parecis, in Mato Grosso State.
ResponderExcluirI have just arrived and started to teach English at Fisk School. In this place I met one of the best English teacher, and best person ever, Adriana. Guys, she’s a very nice friend
Here in Campo Novo I applied to work for IFMT, and passed the exams to be English Teacher there. This a very nice place to work because the students, most of them, are very interested in learning and usually participate a lot of my classes. They are nice!
In 2009 I studied hard for the mastering tests and reached my goals. When I started to think about the subject I would like to research about, technology and elearning called my attention. Here in Campo Novo it’s difficult to study, we even don`t have large opportunities to study. The internet is solving a gap regarded to education in our region.
The internet, in my opinion is a special tool for everybody that want to learn different things, and to learn a foreign language.
My Professor, Dr. Danie Marcelo de Jesus, helped me to organize the blog, giving me the main tips and helping me to keep contact with the students from UFMT, UFV and UESC.
So, this blog is something very important to my research project and I’m really learning a lot here, especially that reflecting a strong tool to be a better professional and person too.
Thank you a lot!!!

Surprisingly, by the fact i didnt intend to be a teacher, and luckly because little by little i've felt in love with everything that includes this subject, specialy if it also involves English.
Though i'm really begginner, I teach at a private course so it's a real challange for me. I still have to cope with my own difficulties everyday before teaching a class. Anyway, there is always a start point.
I'm really glad to get in touch with everybody here through this blog. That's a really good idea and i hope to be a better student and professional as well by reflecting with the group and sharing ideas.

ResponderExcluirHi,
ResponderExcluirI`m Marileuza, but everybody calls me Mari. I`ve been an English teacher since 1990. It´s something that makes me very happy. At this moment, I`m working at Nucleo Regional da Educação in my city - Campo Mourão.I`m the coordinator of LEM and CELEM. Besides this, I came back to FECILCAM where I have I a very special group of students.
In short, being a teacher is my life and to be part of this group is a pleasure for me.
Ana Regina, it´s very important for us to know that we can count on teachers like you.
Hi Dear Mari
ResponderExcluirThanks a lot!! The blog has been a great success because most of the students are very concerned about how English classes happen and how they can be improved.
When my Professor Danie said to me we were going to participate I became so happy. I'm from Paraná and I graduated at UCP, in Pitanga, that's is too near Campo Mourão. I also had classes with Dr. Monica Fernandes (in fact she was my supervisor) and with Dr.Edcléia Basso, that taught me a lot about Sociointeracionism and how to use song in the English classes.
I believe the blog is gonna be a very important way to share ideas, to know different people, read about a sort of opinions and discuss important topics for the students that are still in the Uni.
So, Welcome again Mari and everybody from Fecilcam!
Ana Regina
Hello dear friends, I'm Maria Izabel Rodrigues Tognato, but you can call me Belinha. I`ve been a teacher of English since 1994, but I also worked with childish education from 1992 to 1993. I have been working at FECILCAM since 1994 and at public elementary and high school since 1994 as well. I also work with teachers of English through a continuous education teacher. I also work with teacher Mari from FECILCAM who is a very special person, isn't Mari, rs? I teach English language in the first year of Letras course, North-American literature in the fourth year and English literature in the third year. We thought that it would be better if the students from the third year of Letras course participate of this opportunity because the first and second year are only begining their experience with English language and the fourth year is very busy with their teaching practice at schools. So, I really hope our students can partipate of these activities so that they can develop themsemlves in a better way. We have a research group at FECILCAM and teacher Mari is with me there. We study about Sociodiscursive Interactionism that is a perspective for the language teaching. At last, I always loved English and I always loved to study it too. Of course, I always loved to teach English as well. I love to interact with people specially in English language, so I would like to thank my dear and special friend Danie again for having invited us to participate of this opportunity. Thanks, Danie. Ana Regina, thanks for your welcome. Welcome in our lives too.
ResponderExcluirSincerely,
Maria Izabel (Belinha)!
